Celebrity Dog Boo … the adorable Pomeranian who, together with his brother Buddy, became an Internet sensation — died in his sleep last week, his humans posted on Facebook.
A Ripe Old Age
Boo lived to the ripe old age of 90 (dog) years.
His 13th birthday celebration was scheduled for March.
The Early Years
Boo found his Forever Home in 2006, adopted by Irene Ahn, a Facebook employee.
Ms. Ahn started a Facebook page for him writing, “My name is Boo. I am a dog. Life is good.”
In 2010, famous singer Kesha tweeted “I have a new boyfriend” and linked it to Boo’s Facebook page.
That tweet catapulted Boo … who playfully brought his older brother Buddy along … into the spotlight.
He had Fame
Boo’s Facebook page grew to over 16 million likes and followers.
He appeared on Good Morning, America … twice.
He even made Anderson Cooper’s Ridiculist in 2012 … when now-famous Boo was the subject of a death hoax.

As his celebrity dog status flourished, Boo, with the help of his mom (under the pen name J.H. Lee), wrote several books.

His adventures were chronicled in a graphic novel:

Toymaker GUND asked celebrity dogs Boo … and Buddy … to model for them. They were both thrilled with how realistic the plush replicas … featuring some of their favorite outfits … turned out.

Boo’s Favorite Things
Even with all his fame, against all odds, Boo remained a humble Pom.
According to his Facebook page, some of his favorite things were:
- foods: chicken, cheese, flowers, grass, dirt
- games: running outside, following around big brother, squeaky toys
- pastime: wearing shirts
- color: pink
Yes, Boo was secure wearing pink.
Heartbreak
In 2017, Boo’s older brother Buddy died.
Sadly, soon after, Boo started showing signs of heart trouble.
His human posted on Facebook: “We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us. He hung on and gave us over a year. But it looks like it was his time, and I’m sure it was a most joyous moment for them when they saw each other in heaven.”
So … rest in peace, Boo.
We’re sure you’re enjoying your favorite things … with your favorite bro once again.
